Ready Gunner is an independent firearms blog: first-hand notes on the gear I own, researched buyer's guides, and Second Amendment news, from a gun enthusiast.

My journey with firearms grew into a hands-on interest in how guns are designed, built, and maintained. That interest shapes everything here: I care about how things work, not just how they look on a spec sheet.

I write about what I own and shoot. Right now that includes:

• An AR57 in 5.7x28, set up with an ERGO grip, a Radian ambidextrous safety, and a SIG Romeo MSR red dot with a Juliet3-Micro magnifier, with roughly 1,000 rounds through it.
• A .308 Winchester western hunting build.
• A Banish 30 Gold suppressor that runs on both.

• Reviews are hands-on. I use the gear before I write a review of it. Reviews are based on my own range time, with round counts and real photos.
• Buyer's guides are researched. Guides to gear I have not used are built from manufacturer pages and listed prices, are dated, and say so. I tell you which items I have used myself.
• I say what I don't like. Every review covers the downsides, not just the highlights.
• I separate fact from opinion. Specs and legal information come from the manufacturer or primary sources, and I link them. My impressions are labeled as mine.
• I correct mistakes. If something I wrote turns out to be wrong, I fix it and note the update in the post.
